You can close your Talkwish account and ask us to delete your data at any time. It takes three steps, and we confirm with you before anything is deleted.
Before you start
- Save what you want to keep. Download any recordings or voicemails you need, and note down important messages. To keep your contacts, export them from Contacts with Export all (.vcf). To keep a list of your calls, use Export CSV in your call history. Once your account is deleted, none of this can be recovered.
- Move your number first, if you have one and want to keep it. Deleting your account releases your number, and it may later be given to someone else. To move it to another provider, email us before you delete anything. See Choose and keep your phone number.
- Update your contact details. If you gave your Talkwish number or username to people or companies as a way to reach you, give them another way first.
Delete your account
- Cancel your plan, if you have one. Open billing in your dashboard and cancel, so you aren’t billed again.
- Email us from the address on your account. Write to support@talkwish.com and ask us to delete your account. We only act on requests from the account’s own email address, so nobody else can delete your account.
- Confirm. We’ll reply to confirm the request before we delete anything, and let you know when it’s done.
What happens next
We delete your account, your call and message history, your voicemails and recordings, and release your number if you have one. Deleted information may remain in our backups for a limited time until they’re overwritten. We keep a few records, like invoices, only where the law requires it.
Our delete your account page explains exactly what we delete, what we keep and for how long. Our privacy policy has the full details.
Just want to tidy up?
You don’t need to close your account to remove things. You can delete individual messages, voicemails and recordings yourself at any time.
