Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This statement covers this website, talkwish.com. The Talkwish web app at app.talkwish.com aims for the same standard. If anything there gets in your way, tell us the same way.
What we do
- Every page has a "Skip to content" link, clear landmarks, one main heading and headings in order.
- You can reach every link and control with a keyboard, and the focused item always has a visible outline.
- Text and controls meet AA color contrast in both light and dark mode. The site follows your device's setting.
- Pages are designed to fit phone screens and larger text without scrolling sideways.
- Buttons and links are big enough to tap, or have enough space around them.
- Pictures of the app are decoration. Screen readers skip them or read a short description, and the same information is in the text around them.
- Most animations stop by themselves after a few seconds, and they all stop when your device is set to reduce motion.
- The site works without JavaScript. Questions and answers open and close with standard browser controls.
- We don't use images of text, and form fields have labels.
Known issues
These are the problems we know about. We're working on them.
- Small text in app pictures. The pictures of the app include small, low-contrast text. They're decoration only, and everything they show is also in the page text.
- Apps on the way. The iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac apps aren't released yet. We'll check each one before it's released and update this statement.
How we checked
Our team reviewed the site's code against WCAG 2.2 AA, measured color contrast in light and dark mode, and checked keyboard use. Our automated tests check every page for a main landmark, a skip link, the page language, image descriptions and names for every link and button.
The site hasn't had an independent accessibility audit yet, and we haven't tested it with every screen reader. If you use assistive technology and something doesn't work, we'd really like to know.
