Overview
This Refund Policy explains when you can get money back from Talkwish. It's part of our Terms of Service. In this policy, "Talkwish," "we," "us" and "our" mean Nactus Technologies Pvt Ltd.
Paid plans are on sale now. Free accounts stay free. This policy applies from the moment you choose a paid plan, including before phone numbers open.
The short version:
- Plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance, and you can cancel any time in your dashboard.
- After you cancel, your plan keeps working until the end of the month or year you paid for. We don't refund partial months, except where the law requires.
- Yearly plans: cancel within 30 days of a yearly charge and we refund the full months you haven't used. In Canada, that applies whenever you cancel.
- Prepaid credit is non-refundable, except where the law requires or if we stop offering Talkwish.
- If we charge you by mistake, we'll refund it. Email us within 60 days.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with.
Monthly plans
Monthly plans are paid each month, in advance, in US dollars. Current prices and what each plan includes are on our pricing page.
- There's no free trial of paid plans. Signing up is free: a free account gives you a Talkwish username for calls and messages with other Talkwish users. A phone number needs a paid plan, and you pay for your first month or year when you choose one. Phone numbers open shortly, and we'll email you when you can pick yours.
- Your plan renews automatically at the start of each billing month, and we charge the card on your account until you cancel.
- We don't give refunds or credits for partial months, for months you didn't use, or for minutes left in your plan's allowance, except where the law requires. Your allowance starts fresh each billing month and doesn't roll over.
- Price changes. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a price change affects you, so you can cancel first if you don't want to pay the new price.
Yearly plans
Yearly plans are paid for 12 months at a time, in advance, in US dollars, at a lower price per month than monthly billing.
- Your plan renews automatically once a year, and we charge the card on your account until you cancel.
- Cancel within 30 days of a yearly charge, whether it's your first payment or a renewal, and we refund the full months you haven't used. Your plan then ends at the end of the month you cancel in, and that month isn't refunded.
- After those 30 days, there's no refund, except where the law requires. Your plan keeps working until the end of the year you paid for, and then it ends.
- In Canada, you can cancel a yearly plan at any time and we refund the full months you haven't used, in the same way.
- Minutes left in your plan's allowance aren't refunded and don't roll over.
Canceling your plan
- You can cancel any time from the billing page in your dashboard at app.talkwish.com. There's no contract and no cancellation fee.
- Your service continues until the end of the month or year you've already paid for. If you get a refund of unused months on a yearly plan, it ends at the end of the month you cancel in. After that, your plan ends and you won't be charged again.
- To avoid being charged again, cancel before your next billing date.
- Your number is held for 30 days after your plan ends. Choose a plan again within that time to keep it. After that, it may be given to someone else. See phone numbers in our Terms.
- Canceling your plan doesn't delete your account. To do that, see delete your account.
Prepaid credit
Prepaid credit pays for usage beyond your plan's allowance, such as extra calling minutes, at the rates on our pricing page.
- Credit is non-refundable and non-transferable, except where the law requires or if we stop offering Talkwish, as explained below. You can't exchange it for cash or move it to another account.
- If your account closes, unused credit isn't refunded, except where the law requires, so add only what you expect to use.
- If we stop offering Talkwish, we'll refund the unused prepaid credit on your account.
Billing errors and duplicate charges
If we made a mistake, we'll fix it. We'll refund:
- duplicate charges, such as being charged twice for the same month or the same top-up;
- charges for the wrong amount; and
- charges made after your cancellation took effect.
Email support@talkwish.com within 60 days of the charge, from the email address on your account. Tell us the date and amount of the charge and the last four digits of the card. Never send your full card number by email. We usually reply within one business day.
If you find an error after 60 days, please still get in touch. We'll look into it, and this time limit doesn't reduce any rights the law gives you.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer. We can usually fix billing problems faster directly, and a chargeback can interrupt your service.
If you file a chargeback, we may suspend your account while it's resolved, as our Terms explain. This doesn't affect your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer.
Taxes and fees
- Taxes and telecommunications fees may apply, and they're added to your charges where required. They can depend on where you live.
- When we refund a charge in full, the taxes and fees we collected on it are refunded too.
- Prices and refunds are in US dollars. If your card uses another currency, such as Canadian dollars, exchange rates may change between the charge and the refund, so the amount you get back may differ slightly. We can't refund currency conversion or foreign transaction fees charged by your bank or card issuer.
How refunds are paid
- Refunds go back to the original card you paid with, through our payment processor, Clover. We can't send refunds as cash, by bank transfer or to a different card.
- Once we issue a refund, it usually takes 5 to 10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.
- If that card has expired or been closed, your card issuer usually still passes the refund on to you. Contact them if it doesn't arrive.
- We'll email you when we've issued a refund.
- Your card details are handled by Clover. Talkwish never stores your full card number.
Your rights under consumer law
Some consumer protection laws give you rights beyond this policy, such as rights to cancel a contract or get a refund in certain situations. Nothing in this policy takes away rights you have under laws that can't be changed by contract.
- In Quebec, the Consumer Protection Act gives consumers specific rights, including for contracts made online and for ongoing services, and those rights still apply to you.
- Elsewhere in Canada, the consumer protection laws of your province or territory still apply.
- In the US, consumer protection laws in your state that can't be waived by contract still apply.
Where this policy says "except where the law requires," it means we'll give you any refund those laws require.
