Messaging other Talkwish users is free, and it works today. You text people by their Talkwish username, like @maya.
Send a message
- Sign in to the web app and open your messages.
- Start a new conversation, then enter the person’s Talkwish username, like @maya.
- Type your message and send it.
Replies show up in the same conversation. Your conversations stay in sync on every device where you sign in.
Send a photo
You can add a photo to a message in the app, and the other person sees it in their Talkwish app. Photos work only between Talkwish users, inside the app.
Who you can message
For now, you can message anyone on Talkwish by their username. Ask friends and family for theirs. Once you’ve texted someone, the conversation stays in your messages, so it’s easy to pick up again. Your own username is in your profile settings in the web app.
Your contacts in Talkwish hold phone numbers, not usernames, so use the username to text another Talkwish user. See Save and import your contacts.

Texting regular phone numbers is coming soon
We’re working on texting for regular US and Canada phone numbers. Until it’s ready, texting works only between Talkwish users. Talkwish doesn’t send or receive SMS or picture messages (MMS) with regular phone numbers.
Keep it friendly
Message people who know you and want to hear from you. The Free plan is for your own personal use, and the Standard, Pro and Enterprise plans are for businesses. On every plan, spam, bulk and automated messages aren’t allowed. Read our acceptable use policy for the details.
